OWNER
FAQ

Answers to common questions about registering your vehicle, production opportunities, compensation, insurance, transportation and what to expect when your vehicle is selected for a production.

VEHICLE OWNERS

YOUR VEHICLE.
YOUR DECISION.

Registering with Official Cinema Cars makes your vehicle available for consideration for film, television, commercials, photography, branded content, music videos, events and other approved production opportunities.

Registration does not guarantee bookings, and you are not required to accept every opportunity presented to you.

01

REGISTRATION

01

HOW DO I REGISTER MY VEHICLE?

Complete the Official Cinema Cars vehicle registration form and provide accurate information about your vehicle, including its make, model, year, color, condition, modifications and other requested details.

Current photographs should accurately represent the vehicle so productions can properly evaluate it for potential use.

02

DOES IT COST MONEY TO REGISTER?

Vehicle registration with Official Cinema Cars is currently free unless otherwise stated for a specific service, program or optional feature.

03

WHAT TYPES OF VEHICLES CAN BE REGISTERED?

OCC may accept a wide variety of vehicles, including everyday cars, classics, exotics, luxury vehicles, JDM vehicles, muscle cars, customs, modified vehicles, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles and specialty vehicles.

Productions often need ordinary vehicles just as much as rare or exotic vehicles, so a vehicle does not need to be expensive or highly modified to be useful for production.

04

DOES REGISTRATION GUARANTEE MY VEHICLE WILL BE BOOKED?

No. Registration makes your vehicle available for consideration but does not guarantee that a production will select or book it.

Vehicle selection is based on the specific creative, visual, technical, scheduling and logistical requirements of each production.

05

CAN I REGISTER MORE THAN ONE VEHICLE?

Yes. Owners may register multiple eligible vehicles. Each vehicle should have its own accurate registration information and photographs.

06

WHAT IF I MODIFY OR SELL MY VEHICLE?

Owners should notify OCC when material information about a registered vehicle changes.

This includes major appearance changes, color changes, modifications, ownership changes, sale of the vehicle or circumstances that make the vehicle permanently unavailable.

02

PRODUCTION OPPORTUNITIES

07

HOW WILL I KNOW IF A PRODUCTION WANTS MY VEHICLE?

If your vehicle appears to match a production request, Official Cinema Cars may contact you using the information associated with your registration.

Available details may include production dates, location, anticipated vehicle use, transportation requirements and proposed compensation.

08

DO I HAVE TO ACCEPT A PRODUCTION OPPORTUNITY?

No. Registering your vehicle does not obligate you to accept every production opportunity.

You may evaluate the proposed dates, use, compensation and other requirements before deciding whether you wish to proceed.

09

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE WILL I BE CONTACTED?

Notice varies by production. Some productions plan vehicle requirements weeks or months in advance, while others may need a vehicle on relatively short notice.

You are always free to decline if the schedule does not work for you.

10

CAN I ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE ACCEPTING?

Yes. Owners should understand the anticipated use of their vehicle before agreeing to a booking.

If you have concerns about driving, transportation, rigging, talent use, location conditions, modifications or any other aspect of the production, raise those questions before accepting the booking.

03

RATES & COMPENSATION

11

HOW MUCH CAN I MAKE?

Compensation varies significantly depending on the vehicle, project, duration, intended use, vehicle value, rarity, transportation requirements and other production factors.

A background vehicle used briefly may have a different rate from a hero vehicle featured prominently throughout a production.

12

WHO DETERMINES THE RATE?

Rates may be established or negotiated based on the particular production, vehicle, intended use and applicable booking requirements.

OCC may facilitate communication and negotiation between the production and vehicle owner.

13

WHEN DO I GET PAID?

Payment timing depends on the production and the applicable booking arrangement.

Payment terms should be communicated as part of the confirmed booking, invoice or applicable agreement.

14

ARE TRANSPORTATION COSTS PAID SEPARATELY?

Transportation, towing, mileage, fuel, parking, storage, owner attendance and similar expenses may be handled separately from the base vehicle rate.

Applicable transportation arrangements and expenses should be established before the booking is confirmed.

04

INSURANCE & VEHICLE PROTECTION

15

DOES PRODUCTION NEED INSURANCE?

Appropriate insurance documentation may be required before your vehicle is released, transported, driven or otherwise placed under production control.

Requirements may vary according to the vehicle and production.

16

WHAT IF MY VEHICLE IS DAMAGED?

Any damage or incident should be documented and reported promptly.

Responsibility for repairs, loss, insurance claims, loss of use, diminished value or other expenses will depend on the applicable agreement, insurance coverage and circumstances of the incident.

17

WHAT IF MY VEHICLE IS HIGHLY MODIFIED OR VERY VALUABLE?

Make sure OCC has accurate information regarding the vehicle's modifications and value.

Exotic, collector, custom, modified and other high-value vehicles may require additional insurance documentation, valuation information or special handling requirements.

05

DRIVING & VEHICLE USE

18

WILL SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE MY VEHICLE?

Not necessarily. Some productions only require a vehicle to remain stationary, while others may require driving.

Vehicle operation and approved drivers should be established before the booking. Owners may also establish reasonable restrictions concerning who may operate their vehicle.

19

CAN AN ACTOR DRIVE MY CAR?

Actor or talent operation should be disclosed and approved before production use.

You may decline actor operation or require additional conditions depending on the vehicle and circumstances.

20

CAN MY VEHICLE BE USED FOR STUNTS?

Not unless stunt use has been specifically disclosed and expressly approved.

A normal booking should not be interpreted as permission for racing, drifting, burnouts, collisions, jumps, off-road driving or similar high-risk activity.

21

CAN PRODUCTION PUT CAMERAS, DECALS OR EQUIPMENT ON MY VEHICLE?

Only with prior approval.

You should be informed before adhesives, decals, wraps, camera mounts, suction devices, rigging, lighting equipment or other production equipment is attached to or installed on your vehicle.

06

TRANSPORTATION & PRODUCTION DAY

22

HOW DOES MY VEHICLE GET TO THE PRODUCTION?

Transportation depends on the vehicle and booking.

A vehicle may be owner-delivered, professionally transported, towed or transported using another approved method.

Transportation arrangements should be confirmed before the production date.

23

DO I HAVE TO STAY WITH MY VEHICLE?

Not always. Whether an owner or vehicle attendant remains with the vehicle depends on the production and the agreed booking terms.

For specialty, exotic, custom or high-value vehicles, owner attendance may sometimes be appropriate or required.

24

HOW LONG CAN A PRODUCTION DAY LAST?

Production schedules can vary significantly and may involve long working days.

Expected call time, anticipated wrap time, overtime, overnight possession and multi-day use should be discussed as part of the booking whenever applicable.

25

WHAT IF PRODUCTION CHANGES HOW THEY WANT TO USE MY VEHICLE?

Material changes in vehicle use should be communicated before the changed activity occurs.

You may request clarification or additional approval before allowing use that differs materially from the original booking.

07

CANCELLATIONS & AVAILABILITY

26

WHAT IF THE PRODUCTION CANCELS?

Production schedules can change or be cancelled. Applicable cancellation fees or reimbursement of committed expenses will depend on the specific booking terms.

27

WHAT IF I BECOME UNAVAILABLE AFTER ACCEPTING A BOOKING?

Contact OCC immediately if you or your vehicle become unavailable after accepting an opportunity.

Early notice gives OCC and the production the best opportunity to locate an alternative vehicle if necessary.

REMEMBER

YOU KNOW YOUR
VEHICLE BEST.

Ask questions before accepting a booking and communicate any special requirements, limitations or concerns involving your vehicle.

If something about the proposed use is unclear, contact OCC before authorizing that activity.
